Awesome news. Any idea if he's cleared for contact?

Edit: Didn't seem like there was an answer yesterday. Based on what I'm seeing today, looks like the same thing.

Practicing or participating in a morning skate?

It's a morning skate. He's done one previously this season. But being out on the ice with the team on back-to-back days is clearly a good sign.

Why is Andreoff being recalled instead of Frost? Andreoff clearly nothing remotely close to an NHL player. With Aube-Kubel and Bunnaman providing very little in the way of offense, why dress another minor leaguer who will provide nothing?

Because:

1) Frost has skated all of two shifts at wing this entire season. They want him at center.

2) They will just slide Raffl back up to the Couturier line and play Andreoff 6-8 minutes.

3) Andreoff has had a few good games for the Flyers -- some not-so-good ones, too -- in that spot.

Also, relative to his ice time, Aube-Kubel actually has been in the middle of a pretty decent amount of offense.

Andreoff was placed on waivers earlier this year, if they thought he was someone who could contribute wouldn't they be concerned he would be claimed?

Not to jinx anyone but Myers and Sanheim have been locking things down in the d zone lately. Long time since the former chased a ghost or the latter simply fell down on the ice. If they can keep this up as they both continue to strengthen and fill out, i see a nhl top 2nd pair potential. Keep up the good work boys.

Just because a vet player can go through waivers unclaimed doesn't mean he can't contribute something here and there in the NHL. Andreoff is nothing special but he's good on the walls and heavy on the puck. If he can do that for 6-8 mins a game, not cost you a goal or penalty or turn a puck over in a dangerous spot, he's fine for given game or a few games.

He's a good AHL player, marginal NHL one.

Fair enough. I think with the unfortunate situations with Lindblom/Patrick and Giroux producing way below his norm, Fletcher is going to have to add a player who can produce some offense. The team has played very well most of the season, but in a stacked Eastern Conf. where 100 points might not be enough to qualify for the playoffs the Flyers will fall short. There isn't much cap room, so he's going to have to get creative.

If the Flyers can make a move that doesn't give up significant future assets or cap assets, then that's fine. However in my opinion, the Flyers should not consider themselves a buyer at the deadline. Stand pat and go with what you have. If you have an opportunity to make a deal for the future, that's a different story. Otherwise, stand pat and let it roll.

I agree. Maybe a 4th line center upgrade or an upgrade on the wing but they are really limited moneywise on what they can do. I am ok with standing pat.

Absolutely agree standing pat. I'm not downing those who want an upgrade at 4th line center, because they do. However the success of this season rides on the shoulders of their top players.

I know as well as anyone, this isn’t the pre cap era. This is no longer a player for player business. With this said, if Arizona felt any pressure to move Taylor Hall’s 6 million cap hit for JvR’s 7 million cap hit and our first round pick to sweeten the pot, why wouldn’t we do it?

Right. I am not opposed to something like that. However, I do not think something big like that will present itself.

The devils retained 3 mil i think. So wouldn't it be a 3 mil cap hit? Could Arizona fit JVRs salary?
